The Iranian Society of Organ Donation (ISOD) started as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in its activities in cultural, social, scientific, infrastructural, and educational in 2014 with the aim of improving the situation of organ donation.
According to the studies conducted focusing on the obstacles of organ donation, it was found that one of the most important problems in this field is the lack of education and awareness of the community and the specialists.
Therefore, the ISOD Education Department started its work at the national level in two areas: general education for the community and specialized education for the hospital staff and the personnel of the organ procurement units.
This department managed to create a significant impact on the process of organ procurement in Iran by providing specialized training using new theoretical and practical training methods.
The scientific committee of the ISODP educational department decided to hold international training courses after assessing the situation of organ donation in the world, especially in developing countries. In this regard, this committee has designed various courses to be held in-site or virtually according to the needs of countries.
